OCTOBER 1
THE STUDIO ONE PROJECT
The Studio One Project is a vibrant homage to the legendary Jamaican Studio One label, birthplace of ska, rocksteady, and reggae. Drawing on the essential elements of Jazz — improvisation, syncopation, and dynamic interplay – this band not only recreates the legendary Studio One sound but also keeps it alive for new generations.

OCTOBER 8
DR. MIKE DAVISON & THE LATIN JAZZ MESSENGERS
The Latin Jazz Messengers specialize in an eclectic blend of Cuban, Brazilian and American Jazz. Led by the renowned trumpeter, Dr. Michael Davison, the seven members of the Latin Jazz Messengers continue to thrill audiences with their high-energy arrangements of Latin Jazz classics and popular tunes. From the “wall of sound” horn section to the “posse” rhythm section, the group guarantees a “muy caliente” experience to make people dance! HOT! HOT! HOT!

OCTOBER 15
MIKE HOGGARD & HARRY WILSON QUINTET
Jazz Café welcomes back drummer Mike Hoggard with former Sun Ra Arkestra vibraphonist HARRY WILSON! The band has been performing at venues and festivals in Fredericksburg, Northern Virginia, RVA and Williamsburg. Hoggard and Wilson will be joined by Atiba Taylor on sax & flute; Jack Byrnes on bass and George Cruz on keyboards.

OCTOBER 22
THE NORMS
Assembled in 2022, the Norms specialize in tight, unique, and compelling Jazz-funk fusion. They have been described as providing “pure, genre-bending instrumentals that will carry you somewhere between a ’70s vinyl dream and an interstellar Jazz session.” The Norms are seasoned musicians who regularly book throughout Virginia with Mark Piper on drums, Ben Leonard on bass & synths; Dan Hall on guitar & keys and Caleb Dance on sax & flute.

OCTOBER 29
BROTHER BLUES’ BAND
Get ready for a high-energy, soul-drenched performance from Brother Blues’ Band, led by the legendary Hermon “Blues” Maclin—renowned bassist, smooth baritone, and founding member of the iconic funk group Trussel (Elektra Records). With chart-topping hits like Love Injection, Sweet Love, and Big City Rocker, Trussel left its mark from Madison Square Garden to the heart of the Deep South—and now, Brother Blues’ Band is bringing that same fire to the stage.

This powerhouse ensemble features longtime collaborators and music veterans, delivering an irresistible mix of soul, funk, R&B, and jazz. Expect feel-good classics from Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Parliament Funkadelic, Stevie Wonder—plus original grooves straight from “Blues” himself.
